Cape Cod & Nantucket: My Perfect Long Weekend Itinerary

Planning a coastal getaway? Cape Cod and Nantucket offer a dreamy mix of quaint towns, stunning beaches, and incredible food. Here’s how my trip is shaping up for an unforgettable long weekend filled with relaxation, adventure, and coastal charm.

Thursday: Arrival & Sunset Beach Picnic

Morning: We landed at the airport, picked up our rental car, and began a scenic drive to Provincetown, which took about 2 hours and 15 minutes. Along the way, we stopped in a few charming towns and grabbed lunch at one of the beachy gems—Sesuit Harbor Cafe.

Evening: We checked into the charming Waterford Inn in Provincetown. After settling in and relaxing, the evening's highlight was a "girl dinner" picnic on Race Point Beach, complete with snacks and a gorgeous sunset over the ocean. Another great dinner option is Mac’s Fish House when we were still hungry.

Friday: Coastal Exploration & Chatham Elegance

Morning Hike: We started the day with a refreshing hike along the Long Point Loop, enjoying the stunning coastal landscapes.

Breakfast: Afterward, we refueled at the Provincetown Portuguese Bakery, known for its delicious pastries.

Beach Day: We spent the rest of the day soaking up the sun at Cahoon Hollow Beach, with a quick lunch at The Beachcomber. It was the perfect beach day, full of relaxation.

4:00 PM: We checked into SeaShell Cape Cod for the evening.

6:00 PM: Dinner was a special treat at Chatham Bars Inn. We dined on the Bayview Terrace with live music playing, making the experience even more magical. Pro tip- Get there early if you want a good spot!

Evening Drinks: After dinner, we unwound with drinks at Perks Beer Garden and enjoyed a laid-back evening.

Saturday: Nantucket Day Trip

Morning Yoga: We started the day with some peaceful morning yoga, which was the perfect way to center ourselves for the adventures ahead.

9:30 AM: We hopped on the ferry to Nantucket, enjoying the scenic ride over to the island.

Explore Nantucket: Once on Nantucket, we grabbed coffee at Lemon Press and spent some time shopping around downtown. For lunch, we planned to grab sandwiches from Provisions, but ended up at the Galley Beach for drinks, soaking in the ocean views.

Dinner & Dancing: We planned to check out the famous Cru restaurant for dinner, but instead headed over to the Boat House for some affordable Mexican food! was the perfect way to end our time on the island.

Sunday: Heading Home

After an amazing few days, we drove back to Boston, arriving at the airport in time for our 11:30 AM flight home. It was the perfect coastal escape!

Whether you're planning your first visit to Cape Cod or just dreaming about your next beach getaway, this itinerary has the perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and memorable dining. I can't wait to explore this beautiful slice of New England!
